Whilst I was away at Tioman, Malaysia on a Live on Board Boat for the weekend, I enlisted the help of GS-Diving PADI Instructor Phil and PADI Instructor Julius to help run 2 half day dive trips, Saturday and Sunday to Hantu.
Pulau Hantu is located to the south of the main island of Singapore and is just a short ride (35 to 40 minutes) from Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, West Coast Ferry Road.
Phil was onboard Saturday and said they experienced around 2-3 metres of visibility, with all the normal critters to see, including the clown fish at the end of the second dive.
Phil was looking after a group of 4 friends; Audrey, Jason, Caroline and Lishi. One diver, Audrey joined the trip, so she could write an article for the The Straits Times newspaper.

PADI Instructor Davy was looking after some of his own Open Water Students. Bram and Stephen dived together and saw the resident turtle.
Pam and Kean dived together and reported back good sightings of nudis, horseshoe crabs, filefish, nurse sharks and glass shrimp. Pam’s amazing photos can be seen below:
On Sunday, GS-Diving PADI Instructor Julius was onboard. Julius is the latest PADI Instructor to join the GS-Diving team. Julius followed his wife to Singapore for her job at “I Can Read”. He previously worked as a PADI Instructor for many years at Exotic Dive Centre Malapascua, Philippines.
Julius completed PADI Open Water Diver Courses (dives 1 and 2) with Jens and Bryan. Helping him was the latest PADI Dive Master Trainee, Julian. They plan to finish their courses over the next few weeks.
Peter was testing his new camera and was diving with Daniel and Marla. Lester was also onboard with his latest PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) students.
Cheers, Gary Savins
Thanks Pam for the use of your underwater photos.
