Once again onboard the Ark heading for Tioman, Malaysia on a Friday night, this time I had 5 PADI Open Water students and 1 leisure diver.
Dina, Martin, Stefan , Mike and Fred all did well the previous week in the pool and completed their theory sessions with ease.
We completed 5 dives over the weekend, well all accept Dina who was too ill to dive Sunday. She is going to join me in November at Hantu, Singapore to complete her PADI Open Water Diver Course.
The other 4 students did a great job and their buoyancy was pretty good for their first dives.
Tioman was again, not so great, with poor viz at around 5 metres. This did not worry my students too much, as they really enjoyed themselves, pointing out all sorts of fish to each other.
Through the limited viz we did see a lot of clown fish, butterfly fish, angel fish and a few triton trigger fish. One even managed a bite or two on Fred’s fin.
We saw a cuttlefish and loads of Nudi’s that kept everyone interested, so much so, that the fish and critter ID books were used all weekend.
Kassie the leisure diver also had fun despite the less than ideal, milky conditions underwater.
Congratulations to Martin, Stefan , Mike and Fred, our new PADI Open Water Divers.
Cheers, Gary Savins
