Trip Report 28-30 October

We met at the Riverwalk Building, Clarke Quay Singapore Friday night to join the bus to Mersing, Malaysia and then the boat to Pulau Aur.  It was at this time I wondered what I was doing, why did I agree to take a bunch of teenage girls diving….non stop giggling was heard all day and night… :)

Even Gavin at Diveshop@SG experienced this when the girls went to buy some gear.  He felt sorry for me.

This was the first dive trip for everyone since they did their Open Water course earlier in the year, there was a few “I forgot how to dive ” comments made, but it was obvious they did not and they had a great time.  You could see the smiles on their faces underwater (at least not giggling).

My student Stacy did very well and has now joined the GS-DIVING group of divers. Congratulations to Stacey.

It was obvious the monsoon had started because the viz was not as good as earlier in the year, but this did not stop the fun.  So much fun was had everyone that they were too tired to do the 5th dive of the weekend, but opted to head back for an early shower.

We dived Lang, Rayners Rock, Captains Point and Crocodile Rock.  A large number of Barracuda, Trevally, Rainbow Runners and Fusiliers were seen at every site along with all the other usual marine life… no Whale Sharks this weekend :(

Thanks to Mel and Stacey the two teachers for arranging the dive trip.
